Robert O'Neil Forrest, also known as Bob Forrest, was born on February 15, 1961, in Los Angeles, California, and is an American musician. He began as a DJ and roadie for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, meeting Michael Balzary and Anthony Kiedis, before forming Thelonious Monster in 1984. The band released Baby…You’re Bummin’ My Life (1986), Next Saturday Afternoon (1987), and Stormy Weather (1989), then signed with RCA in 1990, a partnership that ended after commercial setbacks. He revived Thelonious Monster with Beautiful Mess (1992) and later formed The Bicycle Thief, issuing You Come and Go Like a Pop Song (1999). His solo debut, Modern Folk and Blues Wednesday (2006), was followed by Survival Songs (2015) on Six Degrees Records. He continued to perform and contribute to Thelonious Monster releases, including California Clam Chowder (2004) and Oh That Monster (2020).
