Yukihiro is the driving force behind the electronic and rock project Acid Android. Beginning his musical journey as a drummer for L'Arc-en-Ciel, he transitioned into a solo endeavor that combined industrial rock, alternative dance, and EBM. In 2002, he released the self‑titled album Acid Android, followed by the EP Faults in 2003, featuring vocalist Toni Halliday. The 2006 studio album Purification marked a shift toward a harder, faster sound, achieving a peak of Number 22 on the Oricon Albums Chart. Subsequent releases included 13:Day:Dream in 2010 and GARDEN in 2017. Singles such as "Let's Dance" (2006) and "Roses / Ashes" (2017) showcased his evolving style. Yukihiro maintained a collaborative approach, working with guest musicians and covering tracks for tribute albums, notably the D'erlanger cover "After Image" in 2017 and hide’s "Electric Cucumber" in 2018. Throughout his career, Acid Android remained signed to Tracks on Drugs, delivering live performances that emphasized intense stage lighting and mechanics.
