Resonance - new album out now!
Formed by Árpád Szarvas and Dénes Pesztalics in 2004, EZ Basic is and indie-pop band from Budapest, Hungary. Their primary aim was to mix electronic and instrumental music, but it was indie-pop, electronic music, new wave, and American girlie-pop melodies
from the 1960's that left their marks on EZ Basic's sound. Also, on one hand, the name EZ Basic refers to early 1980s computers/electronics; on the other hand, to DIY punk ethics: “easy basic” as “learn three chords and form a band”.
Their debut album Hocus Focus guides the listener through the world of new- wave melancholy, post-punk sharpness, naïve melodies from the '60's in front of a Fritz Lang-like futuro-retro background.
heir first single ‘Nice1’ became number 1 on two of Hungary’s most popular radio stations (the song has been nominated in the “Song of the year 2007” category on Radio Café - www.radiocafe.hu - and among 500 tracks it ended up in the top10 with artists such as The Hives, Roisin Murphy, Justice etc.), the song also became the most played track on Kool Rock Radio, and the band have been voted Band of the month in January 2008 on the latter radio station. ‘Nice1’ was also featured on 272 Records’ latest compilation album (Ultrapop
Overdose) and is in rotation from 01.01.2009. on more than 50 radio stations in 6 states in the USA.
