Trapeze, an English rock band from Cannock, Staffordshire, was formed in March 1969. The original lineup included John Jones and Terry Rowley from The Montanas, along with Glenn Hughes, Mel Galley, and Dave Holland from Finders Keepers. In 1970, the band released their self-titled debut album, which was well-received by critics. Following the departure of Jones and Rowley, Hughes, Galley, and Holland continued as a trio, releasing Medusa in 1970. The band released several more albums, including You Are the Music... We're Just the Band (1972) and Hot Wire (1974). Hughes left to join Deep Purple in 1973, but the band continued with various lineup changes until disbanding in 1982. They reunited briefly in 1991 and 1994 for tour dates. Galley died of oesophageal cancer on July 1, 2008, and Holland died of lung cancer on January 16, 2018.
