YOUR SONG IS GOOD was formed in 1998 in Japan by former School Jackets members, including Jun “JxJx” Saito (vocals) and Hiroki Moriya (bass). The group initially pursued a punk‑ska hybrid, releasing the 7‑inch EP Big Stomach, Big Mouth in 2002, which marked their first commercial appearance on the Kakubarhythm label. Their breakthrough came with the 2004 full‑length Your Song IS Good, followed by the 2006 split Booootsy with Beat Crusaders and the Fever mini‑album in July of that year. In 2007 the single "Aitsu Ni Yoroshiku" achieved airplay on TBS’s Count Down TV, and the album Hot!Hot!Hot!Hot!Hot!Hot! was issued on Universal/Kakubarhythm. Subsequent releases included The Action (2008), B.A.N.D. (2010), and OUT (2013), each expanding the band’s blend of ska, soul, and funk. The group maintained a steady touring schedule across Japan, supporting acts such as Beat Crusaders and releasing live DVDs like PLAY ALL !!!!!! live, accident, history, idea, We are YSIG 1998-2008 (2009). In 2018, Coast to Coast appeared as a limited edition single, and Sessions 2 followed in 2020. Throughout their career, YOUR SONG IS GOOD earned recognition for their energetic performances and contributed to the revival of ska‑influenced pop in Japan, though no major chart titles or awards are recorded.
