Step by step is the motto of Kamelancien, a rapper born Kamel Houari Jdayni in Kremlin-Bicêtre in 1980 and originally from Oujda, Morocco. Kamelancien has built up his musical career smoothly, without scandals or provocations, but with a solid progression: while his debut album Ghettographie stayed in the best-seller chart for just one week at number 149, his follow-up, Le Charme en Personne (2007), reached number 30. Logically enough, Le Frisson de la Vérité, released in 2008, continues this progression, climbing to a brilliant 14th place. Kamelancien is making his way, serene and solid like his no-frills rap, but devoid of easy clichés. After a break of several years, during which he devoted himself to sport, he returned under the alias Kamelanc' with the album Coupé du Monde (2013), followed by a collaboration with MLC on Vendetta (2014) and his independent production Le Coeur Ne Ment Pas (2015).
