Andy Stott is a British electronic musician and producer from Manchester who has been active since 2005. He is known for an experimental style that incorporates elements of Detroit techno, industrial music, and grime, often utilizing off-beat rhythms to create a sense of anxiety. His debut studio album, Merciless, was released (2006) followed by the recording Unknown Exception (2008). Stott achieved a significant change in his sound with the EP Passed Me By (2011), which focused on bass-heavy arrangements. His subsequent studio album, Luxury Problems, (2012) received top album awards from both Resident Advisor and Pitchfork. This recording marked the beginning of his collaboration with the vocalist Alison Skidmore, whose light tones serve as a counterpoint to Stott's sinister instrumentals. His discography includes the studio albums Faith in Strangers (2014), Too Many Voices (2016), and Never the Right Time (2021). Stott has also released music under the moniker Andrea and collaborated with Miles Whittaker as the duo Millie & Andrea, releasing the studio album Drop the Vowels (2014).
