Michel Leeb

Michel Leeb is a French humorist, actor, and singer born on April 23, 1947, in Runderoth. He achieved professional recognition for a musical career characterized by jazz and for being a left-handed conductor. Leeb achieved professional recognition for a career that began after he studied philosophy at the Université Paris-I-Panthéon-Sorbonne and taught the subject in 1970. He achieved professional recognition for his 1974 imitation of the sketch “The Typewriter” (1974) by the musician Jerry Lewis. His musical career included performing as a singer with the Count Basie Orchestra and the ensemble Big Band Brass. Leeb achieved professional recognition for directing orchestras with his left hand. His discography included the studio recording Bon Basie de Paris (2002) featuring eleven tracks. He achieved professional recognition for being appointed a Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur in 2009 and a Chevalier de l'ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2018.
