Jabula, a musical group of South African musicians, was formed in 1974 during the apartheid era. The band consisted of Julian Bahula on vocals, Ernest Mothle on bass, Lucky Ranku on guitar and percussion, and Eddie Tatane on percussion. They initially met in London after leaving South Africa due to the ban on traditional African music under apartheid. Their album Jabula was released in 1975, marking their entry into the music scene. The group's second album, Thunder Into Our Hearts, released in 1976, is dedicated to Mongezi Feza, a trumpeter who contributed to the album but passed away before its release. Jabula also collaborated with Mike Oldfield on his albums Ommadawn (1975), Incantations (1978), and Amarok (1990). Notable singles include "Jabula Happiness" (1975) and "Africa" (1985). In 1979, they performed at the Amandla Festival alongside notable artists such as Bob Marley.
