Michael Ward fue un guitarrista y productor estadounidense nacido en 1967. Ward fue miembro fundador de la banda de rock alternativo School of Fish, entre cuyos trabajos discográficos se incluyen el álbum School of Fish (1991) y el sencillo «3 Strange Days» (1991). En 1995, el artista se unió al grupo The Wallflowers y participó en el álbum Bringing Down the Horse (1996), que vendió más de 5 millones de copias y ganó un premio Grammy por el tema «One Headlight». Ward también colaboró con Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals en grabaciones como Both Sides of the Gun (2006) y Lifeline (2007). Su discografía incluye colaboraciones en más de 50 álbumes de estudio, como «Perfectly Good Guitar» (1993) de John Hiatt y «The Blessed Unrest» (2013) de Sara Bareilles. Ward realizó giras por más de 50 países y actuó con grupos como Gogol Bordello. Ward falleció en 2024.
