Eleni Mandell, born October 10, 1969, is an American singer-songwriter known for blending folk, country, pop, and jazz. Raised in Los Angeles, she drew inspiration from artists including Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and Randy Newman, while musician Chuck E. Weiss served as an early mentor. Her debut album, Wishbone (1998), was produced by Jon Brion, followed by Thrill (2000), which earned favorable comparisons to PJ Harvey and Tom Waits. In 2001, The New Yorker described her as "perhaps the best unsigned artist in the business." Mandell later recorded albums including Country for True Lovers (2003) and Miracle of Five (2007), and joined the folk supergroup The Living Sisters with Inara George and Becky Stark.
