Lovedrug, an American alternative/indie rock band, was formed in Alliance, Ohio, in 2001 by singer/guitarist Michael Shepard. The band released their debut full-length album, Pretend You're Alive, in 2004, after signing to The Militia Group. Produced by Tim Patalan, the album became a fast-selling debut, moving close to 20,000 copies in its first few months. Lovedrug toured extensively from 2004 through early 2007, supporting acts like The Killers and Robert Plant. Their second album, Everything Starts Where It Ends, was released in 2007, and included the single "Happy Apple Poison", which charted in the top 10. Lovedrug went on hiatus after releasing their fourth album, Wild Blood, in 2012. In 2018, Shepard announced the end of the Lovedrug project and released (iii), a re-imagining of their second album, Everything Starts Where It Ends. They returned in 2020, releasing Turning into Something You Were Never Meant to Be.
