Jonathan Dunford is an American violinist specializing in baroque repertoire. He studied at the New England Conservatory of Music and later trained under Jordi Savall at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis after receiving a scholarship in 1980. He earned his Mastery of Viola da Gamba in 1987 in Boston and his State Diploma of Early Music in France in 1989. Based in Paris since 1985, Dunford has taught at several conservatories, including Strasbourg (1990–1997). In 2004 he was appointed as workshop leader for the “Philidor” database at the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles. In 2016, he founded the digital label Astres Disques.
