The Yes‑Men, an Australian rock group from Melbourne, were formed in 1995 by Sean Greenway, who served as lead vocalist and guitarist. Greenway, a prominent figure in the late‑1980s Melbourne underground scene, had previously fronted bands such as Foot and Mouth and God, and had written most of the Yes‑Men’s early material before recruiting guitarist Stewart Cunningham and drummer Mark Hurst. Their debut single, "Fratricide"/"Swept Back," appeared in 1999, followed by the album Prosody, released that year on Stolen Records and White Jazz Records. After Greenway died in 2001, the band used proceeds from a memorial concert to complete recordings, which were released in 2005 as El Peligro Ha Comenzado on vinyl through Bang! Records and as a self-titled CD release through Butcher's Hook Records. The band’s work, particularly tracks like "Acid Reign" and "Swept Back", has been covered by acts such as The Hellacopters and Leadfinger, cementing The Yes‑Men’s influence on the Australian rock canon.
