Duo Ultreia is a piano-oboe duo made up of pianist Teresa de la Escalera and oboist Ignacio Cano Raboso. Teresa completed her Undergraduate and Masters studies at London’s Royal Academy of Music, where she received a DipRam for outstanding performance in her Postgraduate Final Recital. She has performed across the UK and Spain, including venues such as the Auditorio Nacional de Musica de Madrid, where she performed as a soloist with the ‘Dreamers’ Orchestra under Ramon Torrelledo. Ignacio also studied at the Academy and was awarded a First Class Honours for his studies. He also received lessons in Cor Anglais with Patrick Flanaghan and, in 2021, was awarded the Barry Grimaldi Cor Anglais Prize. He has collaborated with professional orchestras such as the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra and has performed as a soloist as notable events including the closing concert of Granada's National Classical Music Festival.
In 2020, Duo Ultreia gave a performance of C. Schumann and Albeniz as part of the Live at The state51 Conservatoire series. “We had a lovely experience at state51. The sound in the room and the colours of the piano made the whole process enjoyable and at the same time very improvised. We both felt connected and free at the same time.”
'Duo Ultreia Plays C. Schumann and Albeniz (Live at The state51 Conservatoire)’ is released 14th October 2021 via The state51 Conspiracy.
