Da Weasel, a Portuguese hip hop band from Almada, was formed in 1993, featuring Carlos Nobre, Armando Teixeira, João Nobre, João Fagulha, and Yen Sung. Their debut full album, Dou-lhe Com A Alma (1995), gained them mainstream attention. In 2001, Da Weasel released Podes Fugir Mas Não Te Podes Esconder, which blended various musical influences and featured Paris-based Cuban hip-hop trio Orishas. The album achieved gold and later platinum record sales. Their subsequent album, Re-Definições (2004), became their best-selling release with over 80,000 copies sold. Da Weasel played a sold-out concert at the Olympia in Paris in 2005. On December 9, 2010, Da Weasel announced their breakup. The band reunited for an exclusive concert in 2022 at the NOS Alive festival in Portugal.
