ARENIA

Arenia, a Spanish rock band from Asturias, was formed in 2009 as an evolution of the heavy metal group Atlas. The initial lineup included Eduardo Dizy on guitar and backing vocals, Alejandro Fernández on drums, Raquel Rodríguez on keyboards, and Fran J. Santos on vocals. Their debut performance under the name Arenia took place at the Sala Acapulco in Gijón on October 22, 2009. The band's first album, Cuando el mundo despertó, was released in March 2012. This metal-opera, inspired by Hesiod’s Theogony and narrating the Titanomachy, was followed by the EP Hijos de la Noche in February 2016. The band continued with the release of El atardecer de los sueños in 2017 and La Voluntad de las Estrellas in 2019.
