Los Ex is a Chilean grunge and punk rock band formed in 1996 by Colombina Parra, Pablo Ugarte, Hernán Edwards, and Octavio Bascuñán. They debuted with the album Caída libre (1996), marked by direct lyrics addressing female disappointment and social themes. The album garnered significant attention in Chile and Latin America, and the single "La corbata de mi tío" topped Latin charts and received heavy rotation on MTV. Between 1996 and 1998, they focused on live performances. Ugarte left the band in late 1996, leading Parra to take over bass duties. They released the EP Esta tarde vi llover (1997). In 2004, Los Ex resumed activities with a concert in Santiago. Claudius Rieth joined as bassist in 2007. They released the second album Cocodrila (2006), featuring themes of love conflicts and abuse, followed by the third studio album Pistola de plástico (2008). Beast Discos reissued their catalog in 2016.
