The Wreckery are an Australian punk blues band formed in Melbourne in 1985. The founding lineup consisted of vocalist and guitarist Hugo Race, drummer, keyboardist, guitarist, and violinist Robin Casinader, guitarist and vocalist Edward Clayton-Jones, bassist Tadeusz O'Biegly, and saxophonist Charles Todd. Within a year, bassist Nick Barker replaced O'Biegly. They released their debut mini-album, I Think This Town Is Nervous, in 1985, and followed with the EP Yeh My People in 1987, which featured the single “No Shoes for This Road”. Their debut studio album, Here at Pain's Insistence, appeared in 1987 and produced the single “Everlasting Sleep”. The band followed with the EP Ruling Energy in 1988. Due to financial problems at Rampant Records, they signed with Citadel Records and released their second studio album, Laying Down Law, in 1988. Barker, Clayton-Jones, and Todd departed after recording the album, and after a brief tour with new members Brian Colechin on bass and John Murphy on drums, the band disbanded in 1989. In 2008, they reunited to release the compilation album Past Imperfect and toured the east coast. They released the studio album Fake Is Forever in 2023.
