Matt Tondut is a West Australian multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer, based in Stockholm since 2023. Recording and releasing under a number of projects spanning ambient, classical, Lo-Fi, house and downtempo, he collaborates prolifically across all of them. His main focus is music for rest, sleep and relaxation, the music he needs most in his own life, so he creates it for himself and shares it with the world. Alongside his own releases, he produces soundtracks for sleep stories and guided meditations written and often narrated by his wife, author Sian Tondut.
In 2023 he won WAM Song of the Year (Experimental) for his track Novae. His album Nocturnes and Daydreams was made with Harry Waters, pianist and son of Pink Floyd's Roger Waters, and he has produced for ArtSix in Fremantle alongside Kav Temperley of Eskimo Joe. His work features in content for Netflix and HBO, and has soundtracked international museum exhibitions.
Matt is also the founder of Valley View Records, a global leader in mood and wellness music, home to 600+ composers, producers and instrumentalists across nine imprints. Built on the belief that the best music is made by people, for people, the label blends creative freedom with data intelligence, trusted by the world's biggest streaming platforms, wellness apps and storytellers. More than a label, it's an artist-first creative partner, and helping artists define their sound and build lasting careers is what drives Matt most.
