7 Horns 7 Eyes, also known as 7H7E, was an American Christian death metal band from Seattle, Washington. Formed in 2006 by brothers Aaron and Brandon Smith along with Kyle Wood, Chris Weiford, and Steven Bye, the group initially aimed to transition from rock to heavy metal. Their first release, the self-titled EP was released in 2007. In 2009, after member changes including the addition of Sean Alf and Ryan Wood, they embarked on a tour with Demon Hunter. Following Kyle Wood's departure in 2010, JJ Polachek joined as the new vocalist. The band signed with Century Media Records in March 2011 and released their first full-length album, Throes of Absolution, in 2012, featuring artwork by Travis Smith.
