Revolver is a German hard rock band from Franconia, formed in 1980. The founding lineup consisted of African-American lead vocalist Mary B. Thompson, guitarists Dieter Roth and Jürgen Kühnlein, bassist Ludwig Fellinger, keyboardist Friedel Amon, and drummer Wilfried Schneiker. The group gained attention for performing with custom-made, revolver-shaped guitars, and played at the World Popular Song Festival at Tokyo's Budokan Hall in 1981. They released their debut studio album, First Shot, in 1982. The album was produced by Dieter Dierks and featured backing vocals by Don Dokken. Following a tour of Japan and a support slot on Ozzy Osbourne's 1982 European tour, Thompson departed the band. The remaining members subsequently released the album Little Bit Confused in 1984 under the name Raindancer. After a hiatus, the group reunited in 1994 with new lead vocalist Uwe Gaasch and drummer Evert Fraterman. The band later performed across Germany with a lineup that included drummer Joachim Leyh, bassist Igl Schönwitz, and a brass section featuring trumpeter Klaus Wangorsch.
