Wookie is an English record producer and musician born as Jason Chue in 1972 in London. He achieved professional recognition for a musical career that began in 1991 producing for the artist Wayne Marshall. Chue produced the studio recording 90 Degrees and Rising (1994) and served as a writer and producer for the ensemble Soul II Soul. He achieved professional recognition for producing for the musicians Dynamite MC and Doom Man. His recording career included remixes for artists including Destiny's Child, Public Enemy, Nas, and Whitney Houston. Under the stage name Wookie, he achieved professional recognition for the track “Scrappy” (1999) and a remix of the Gabrielle track “Sunshine” (1999). He achieved professional recognition for the track “Battle” (2000) which reached number 10 in the United Kingdom. Chue achieved professional recognition for the tracks “What's Going On” (2000) which reached number 45 and “Back Up (To Me)” (2001) which reached number 38. His discography included the debut studio recording Wookie (2000) and the track “Get Enuff” (2000) which reached number 80. He achieved professional recognition for a MOBO nomination for Best Producer and winning an Ericsson Award for Best Newcomer.
