The Stiff Dylans were a British rock group formed in England in 2008, comprising James Flannigan on vocals and guitar, Matt Harris on bass and vocals, Charlie Wride on guitar, and Tom Slaytor on drums, all of whom had studied at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music and the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford. The band’s breakthrough came when they were featured in Gurinder Chadha’s 2008 Paramount film Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging, providing the soundtrack tracks "Ultraviolet" and "Ever Fallen in Love", the latter a Buzzcocks cover; "Ultraviolet" entered the UK Singles Chart at Number 41 and "Ever Fallen in Love" at Number 93. The group embarked on a nationwide tour from September to December 2008, performing across the UK. Plans for a full-length album were abandoned, and the band ceased activity thereafter. James Flannigan subsequently pursued a songwriting career for other artists.
