La Dosis is a Mexican rock group from Guadalajara, Jalisco, formed in 1996. The original lineup included vocalist Sara Valenzuela, guitarist Tlemilco Lozano, drummer Aldo Ochoa, bassist Ricardo Arreola Palomera, trombonist Gilberto Cervantes, alto saxophonist Niina Venäläinen, and tenor saxophonist Giancarlo Fragoso. The group blended funk, rock, and 1970s pop influences, debuting with the self-titled album La Dosis (1996), which featured the radio hit “Nada” alongside the tracks “Lotería” and “Me siento morir”. In 1997, the band released Radio Acapulco, an album of cover versions, and followed in 1998 with the studio album Hydro, which introduced electronic elements. The singles “Hombre bala”, “Paraíso”, and “Atómico” gained airplay and were included in the soundtrack of the film La Segunda Noche (1999). Although the band disbanded in 2001, they resumed activity in 2025, returning to the stage with a reunion concert in Guadalajara.
