Phantoms Of Future was a German rock band formed in 1986 in Dortmund. The original lineup included Sir Hannes Smith (vocals), Dörfel (bass), Harald Uri (drums), and Dirk "Dr. Krid" Schwarzer (guitar). Their debut tape, released in 1987, sold 500 copies and won the "Prinz-Ruhrgebiets-Wettbewerb." In 1990, Paul "Eysenhauer" Schrewe took over bass duties, and Olaf Bolte joined on drums. The band's first vinyl album and CD, Cruel Times, was produced that year. They signed with Sony Music in 1995 and collaborated with producer Siggi Bemm on albums Call of the Wild (1995) and Chimera (1996). Notable singles included "Crackin’ Up" and "Caught by Fire". The band disbanded in 2001 after a final concert at the Dortmunder Live Station.
