Originální Pražský Synkopický Orchestr, a Czech jazz, blues, and swing band, was formed in Prague, Czechoslovakia, in 1974 under the artistic direction of musicologist Pavel Klikar. The initial lineup consisted of five members playing wind instruments, piano, and banjo. Throughout the 1980s, the ensemble expanded to twelve members and regularly featured English lyrics in live concerts. Notable albums include Originální Pražský Synkopický Orchestr (1980) and Jazz & Hot Dance Music 1923-31 (1984). Originální Pražský Synkopický Orchestr became known for organizing concerts in the Blues Cellar or on Prague's Charles Bridge.
