Johnnie Rook is a German punk rock band formed in Berlin in 2001 by Michael Jentzen. The group was named after the Falkland caracara, also known as the Johnny Rook. The band was founded after Jentzen attended a concert by the Dutch band Bambix at the SO36 club in Berlin. After several lineup changes, the band played its debut concert on February 22, 2002 at the KVU club in Berlin, and began performing under a stable lineup in 2003, playing its first show on October 18, 2003 at the Potse youth center. The group released four studio albums, a split album with the Swedish band Ninja Dolls, and a split EP with Bambix in September 2011. The band performed over 300 concerts across Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and the Czech Republic. In 2015, the group announced that lead vocalist Franziska would depart for family reasons.
