Ov Hell was a Norwegian black metal supergroup formed in 2009 by vocalist Shagrath and bassist King ov Hell. Both members were previously involved with the band Gorgoroth. The group originated following the dissolution of God Seed. The music for their debut was written by King in 2008 and featured instrumental recordings by session musicians Frost on drums and Teloch and Ice Dale on guitars. In February 2010, the band released their only studio album, The Underworld Regime, through Indie Recordings in Europe. In April 2010, the recording was released in the United States by Prosthetic Records. The group never performed live and transitioned into a studio-only project in May 2010. The ensemble remained active until 2012.
