Adriana-Laurenția "Laura" Stoica, born on October 10, 1967 in Alba lulia, Romania, was a pop rock singer-songwriter. She debuted as a soloist at the Trofeul Tinereții Festival in Amara. Stoica gained recognition after winning first place for solo singing at the 1990 Mamaia National Light Musical Festival with "Dă, Doamne, cântec". Her breakthrough came in 1991 with "Un actor grăbit", which became Song of the Year in Romania. In 1994, she released her debut album, Focul, and formed Laura Stoica Band. On March 9, 2006, Stoica died in a car accident near Urziceni while pregnant.
