Hotknives, a ska band from Horsham in Sussex, England, formed in 1982. The original lineup included Gary Marshall and Michael Clare. Their early releases include live albums Live at the Boatman and Live 'N' Skankin' as well as studio album The Way Things Are. In 1993, the original lineup disbanded but reformed a year later with a reduced four-piece lineup. This lineup released albums such as Home in 1996 and Screams, Dreams And Custard Creams in 2000. The band continued to evolve, releasing About Time in 2010. Hotknives maintained an active touring schedule, performing at festivals across the world. In April 2023, a double album tribute titled Living On Dreams And Custard Creams was released, featuring 40 new versions of Hotknives songs performed by bands from various countries.
