Dalibor Bartulović, known professionally as Shorty, was born on 27 June 1980 in Vinkovci, Croatia. He began writing rap lyrics in 1998 and freestyled on VFM’s Black Thing in 1999, later co‑founding the group B2 in 2000; the group’s demo featured Sade and Remi of Elemental. After B2 dissolved, Shorty launched a solo career, recording at MORRIS studio and signing with Aquarius Records. His debut album, 1,68 (2004), yielded hits such as "Zeka" and "Dođi u Vinkovce". In 2007, he released Moj jedini način, a tribute to his late cousin Tomislav Bartulović, and later Veličina nije bitna (2009).
