Betontod is a German punk rock band from Rheinberg in North Rhine-Westphalia. The band was founded in 1990, initially under the name Extrem. Shortly thereafter, it performed as Sniffin’ Kills. Eventually, they adopted the name Betontod. The current lineup includes singer Oliver Meister, guitarists Frank Vohwinkel and Mario Schmelz, bassist Adam “Ado” Krauschy, and drummer Maik Feldmann. In 1999, the band released their debut album Hier kommt Ärger. They achieved their breakthrough in 2006 with Schwarzes Blut. Afterward, they toured with the band Hass. In 2010, Betontod founded their own label, Better Than Hell. The album GlaubeLiebeHoffnung was released on this label, reaching the German Top 100 for the first time. This was followed in 2011 by Antirockstars, the band’s most successful album to date. On Entschuldigung für Nichts in 2012, Betontod experimented with ska and metal elements, reaching the Top 10 of the German album charts. Traum von Freiheit followed in 2015. In December 2016, the band played its 1,000th concert. Revolution was released in 2017, Vamos! in 2018, Pace per sempre in 2021, and Zeig Dich! in 2023. In September 2026, Betontod released the album Wir fangen jetzt erst an. The singles “Für Dich” and “Eine letzte Runde” were released in advance. The album reached No. 10 on the German album charts. Betontod regularly performs at major festivals, such as Wacken Open Air, Summer Breeze, and Rockharz Open Air.
