The Football Classics Band is a group of studio musicians behind the compilation Footie Anthems. The compilation, released on May 17, 2010, on the Demon Music Group label, features faithful covers of iconic songs from soccer stadium culture, performed by anonymous studio musicians. It includes songs made famous by Queen (“We Are the Champions”), Journey (“Don’t Stop Believin’”), U2 (“Beautiful Day”), Europe (“The Final Countdown”), and Junkie XL’s remix of Elvis Presley’s “A Little Less Conversation”. In addition to these stadium anthems, the album also features covers of songs created specifically for tournaments that went on to become chart-topping hits, such as “World in Motion” by New Order, “3 Lions” by Baddiel, Skinner & The Lightning Seeds, “Vindaloo” by Fat Les, “Come On England” by Ant & Dec, and “Eat My Goal” by Collapsed Lung. In 2026, to mark the 23rd FIFA World Cup, the compilation re-entered the UK charts and reached No. 77 on the download chart.
