Lefties Soul Connection, a Dutch funk and soul band from Amsterdam, was formed in 2001 by guitarist Onno Smit and organist Alviz. The group solidified its lineup with Cody Vogel on drums later that year and Bram Bosman as full-time bassist in early 2002. Influenced by The Meters and Booker T & the MGs, they began releasing singles on Melting Pot Music, including a cover of DJ Shadow's "Organ Donor". They released a promo album in 2004 before releasing their debut album, Hutspot, in 2006, followed by Skimming The Skum in 2007. In 2009, the band toured with Hind Laroussi and released notable singles such as "Fais Do-Do" (2007), "Code 99" (2008), "Have Love Will Travel" (2009), and "You Don´t Know" ( 2009). Their third album, One Punch Pete, was released in 2011 through Universal Music.
