Eroc, whose real name is Joachim Heinz Ehrig, was born on November 15, 1951, in Weimar. He is a German musician and music producer. He grew up in Oberhausen starting in 1954 and in Hagen (Westphalia) starting in 1961. Ehrig plays drums, keyboard, and guitar. Starting in 1970, he devoted himself entirely to music. He joined the band Grobschnitt as a drummer. In 1975, his first solo album, Eroc, was released. Eroc 2 followed in 1976. Eroc 4 was released in 1982. In 1987, he released his final solo album, *Changing Skies*. In 1983, he left Grobschnitt to focus on studio work. In 1998 and 1999, he returned to the stage at the Eurosonic electronic music festival in Sweden. In 2008, the best-of album Wolkenreise was released. His style ranges from Krautrock to progressive rock and electronic music.
