The Wohlstandskinder, a German punk and rock band from Overath, was formed in 1995. They also adopted the name W$K from 1995 to 2000 and briefly used the pseudonym Kindakacke. The group released their first album, Für Recht und Ordnung, in 1997, followed by Poppxapank the same year. Their breakthrough came with the release of "Wie ein Stern" in 2001, which was accompanied by a music video aired on VIVA. The band notably played as a support act for the Offspring and Sum 41. In 2005, they celebrated their ten-year anniversary with a tour featuring over 40 concerts and released the live album Zwischen Image und Gewohnheit. The Wohlstandskinder disbanded after their final concert on December 17, 2005, in Cologne.
