António Joaquim Rodrigues Ribeiro, known professionally as António Variações, was a Portuguese singer and songwriter who blended folk, rock, and pop music. After they signed with Valentim de Carvalho in 1978, he released his debut single in 1982, featuring a cover of "Povo Que Lavas No Rio" and his original composition "Estou Além." His debut studio album, Anjo da Guarda, followed in 1983 and contained the popular tracks "O Corpo É Que Paga" and "É P’ra Amanhã." His second and final album, Dar & Receber, was released in 1984 and featured the hit song "Canção de Engate."
