Félix Nlandu Wazekwa, known professionally as Félix Wazekwa, is a Congolese singer-songwriter, author, filmmaker, dancer, and bandleader born on September 14, 1962, in Léopoldville, Belgian Congo. He began his musical journey in the 1970s, later forming the traditional music ensemble SODEPA and co-founding the band Kin-Verso in 1982. After studying economics in Paris, France, he wrote songs for artists such as Koffi Olomidé and Papa Wemba. Encouraged by Wemba, he embarked on a solo career and released his debut studio album, Tétragramme, YHWH (1995). In 1997, he established his band, Cultur'A Pays-Vie, and released the album Pauvres, Mais... (1997), followed by Bonjour Monsieur (1998) and Sponsor (1999). His subsequent albums include Signature (2001), Yo Nani? (2002), Et Après... (2004), Faux Mutu Moko Boye (2005), Que Demande Le Peuple? (2008), Mémoire ya Nzambe (2010), Adamu Na Eva (2013), I Love You (2015), Article 23 (2020), De Mi Vida (2025), and Fimbu Champions (2026). His 2015 single, “Fimbu” (2015), achieved widespread popularity as a goal celebration anthem for the Congolese national football team.
