Harald Haugaard, born on February 23, 1975, in Denmark, is a Danish violinist and composer. Raised on the island of Funen, he studied general music education at the Funen Music Conservatory, where he also became a lecturer from 2000 to 2005. He began his career as a folk musician, collaborating with Morten Alfred Høirup in the duo Haugaard & Høirup, which formed in 1998 and won multiple awards, including "Danish Folk Art Artist of the Year" at the 2004 Danish Music Awards. His solo career includes albums such as Burning Fields (2009) and Den Femte Søster (2011). He has been an artistic director at various music festivals and schools, including BALTICA and the South Danish Folk Music School.
