Crucis was an Argentine progressive rock band formed in 1974 in Buenos Aires. The group’s origins trace back to the 1972 ensemble Consiguiendo Vida and initially consisted of Gustavo Montesano, José Luis Fernández, Daniel Frenkel, and Daniel Oil. Following the departure of Fernández, Montesano transitioned to bass, and the band added guitarist Pino Marrone and keyboardist Aníbal Kerpel. In 1975, Gonzalo Farrugia replaced Frenkel on drums. The quartet released their self-titled debut album, Crucis, in 1976, which was produced by Charly García. Their second studio album, Los Delirios del Mariscal, was released in 1977 and mixed in New York during a tour of the United States. Internal conflicts led the band to disband in late 1977. Montesano and Farrugia reunited for a tribute concert in 2004, though a permanent reunion did not occur. Notable archival releases include the 1996 compilation Cronología and the live recording En vivo enero 1977. Farrugia died in 2009.
