Giantree

Giantree, an Austrian indie band from Vienna, was founded in 2008 by brothers Hele and Roland Maurer. The duo previously played together in Sirupop before forming Giantree and signing a management contract with a German artist agency the same year. Their initial releases were the singles "Time Loops" and "Communicate", both released in 2011. In 2012, Giantree released their debut album, We All Yell, through Monkey Music and Rough Trade Distribution. The single "Life Was Young" from this album reached Number 1 on the FM4 charts. The band was nominated for the Amadeus Austrian Music Award in the Alternative category and the FM4 Award in 2013. Their subsequent releases include the EPs Densest Blacks (2014) and Age Is in the Heart (2015), as well as the album Match Cut (2016).
