Hordak, a Spanish pagan metal band from Madrid, was formed in 2002 by Winter War and Autumn War. The group's unique sound, which they termed "pagan metal celtíbero," combines epic elements with death metal and black metal influences. Hordak released their debut album War Has Just Begun in 2005, followed by The Last European Wolves in 2006. In 2011, they released Under the Sign of the Wilderness, which received positive reviews from music critics. Their 2016 album Padre featured collaborations with José Luis Frías on flute and Laura Camón Botella on violin. Hordak's style has been compared to that of Amon Amarth and is considered the Iberian equivalent of Viking metal or Eastern European pagan metal. In 2022, they released their sixth album Los Gigantes del Bosque.
