Surrogat were a German rock band formed in Berlin in 1994, comprising founding members Patrick Wagner (guitar, vocals), Tilo Schierz-Crusius (bass), and Mai-Linh Truong (drums). Their initial breakthrough came with the release of their debut album Unruhig in 1995. Surrogat gained significant attention with subsequent albums such as Soul (feat. MMM) in 1996 and Hobby in 1997, produced by Mario Thaler, known for his work with Notwist and Slut. After a three-year hiatus, they released the album Rock in August 2000, which was recorded at the Black Box Studio in France's northeast. Surrogat's final album, Hell in Hell, was released in 2003, featuring the single "Hell in Hell" which released in 2002. They disbanded later that year due to exhaustion from touring and a lack of content.
