Luciferion were a Swedish death metal band formed in early 1993 in Gothenburg, Sweden, by guitarist Michael Nicklasson, drummer Peter Weiner, and guitarist and vocalist Wojtek Lisicki, later joined by bassist Martin Furängen. In 1994, the group submitted their 1993 demo, The Demon of '94, to French record label Listenable Records, which released it that same year. In February 1994, Luciferion recorded their debut studio album, Demonication (The Manifest), at Studio Fredman before Weiner departed and was replaced by drummer Hans Nilsson. Following a period of inactivity starting in 1996 during which members contributed cover tracks to compilation albums, Luciferion reunited in 2000 to record their second studio album, The Apostate, released in 2003 featuring five new tracks, a cover, and the 1993 demo material. Lisicki announced the group's dissolution shortly after the release of The Apostate.
