Xavier Depraz, born Xavier Marcel Delaruelle on April 22, 1926, in Albert, Somme, France, was an opera singer and actor. He began his musical training at the Conservatoire de Paris in 1947, studying under Fernand Francell for singing and Louis Musy for stage performance. Depraz made his operatic debut in Marcel Landowski's Le Rire de Nils Halerius and went on to participate in premieres of operas by Sergei Prokofiev and Francis Poulenc. Depraz also had a prolific recording career, contributing to albums such as L'Enfance Du Christ (1966) and Dialogues des Carmélites (1982). In 1971, he transitioned into acting, appearing in films like Le Droit d'aimer and television shows including The Accursed Kings. Depraz died on October 18, 1994, in Saint-Étienne-de-Saint-Geoirs, Isère.
