The Cit: Dance, Love and Positive Vibes.
The Cit is an electro-urban musical duo formed by Chris Ovid and Ren Kai. They both met in 2009 and formed a cover band three years later. In 2017 and after completing his Music Entertainment studies abroad, Chris Ovid returned to Ecuador to start this music project with Ren Kai.
The name of this duo comes from Sanskrit "Cit" which means "conscience", which is exactly what they want to transmit with their songs and melodies.
Their first single "When You're Gone" talks about getting the best out of an ending relationship and being thankful for the experience. "We want people to feel that energy and joy that we put into each record."
"Find Real Love", their second single, is a song that aims to bring joy to those who listen to it, as it presents a positive and hopeful message. This theme was born from the idea to communicate that "in spite of everything, it will always be possible to find true love and that it is really out there, waiting for us," they both comment.
The Ecuadorian duo combines Electronic Dance beats with several other musical genres, in order to obtain a sound that distinguishes them from others, "these mixtures help us create innovative tracks that go hand in hand with current trends", they conclude.
"I Feel Strong", their latest single, brings a proposal that mixes urban pop with electronic dance music, a sound that has characterized them since their beginnings. This is a song that carries a message of hope and strength, inviting people to continue and fight for their dreams. With this theme they want to convey that despite the obstacles that may arise in life, there is nothing that can stop you from achieving what someone really wants.
