Snapline is a Chinese post-punk band formed in Beijing, China, in 2005. The group includes vocalist and drum programmer Chen Xi, guitarist and keyboardist Li Qing, and bassist Li Weisi, who met while studying at the Beijing Institute of Technology. Their music includes programmed electronic sounds and minimalist noise influenced by 1970s and 1980s post-punk and industrial acts such as Joy Division and The Cure. Produced by former Public Image Ltd drummer Martin Atkins, their debut studio album, Party Is Over, Pornostar, was released in 2007. Their subsequent releases include the albums Future Eyes (2010), Phenomena (2012), and Shou Hua (2018). The band performed at venues such as D-22 in Beijing and the 2007 Modern Sky Festival. In September 2007, the band was listed by That's Beijing as one of the ten best bands in China, and that same year, Rolling Stone recognized Li Qing as one of China's four major guitar innovators.
