Dark at Dawn, a power metal band formed in 1993 in Germany's Harz region was established by Thorsten Kohlrausch, Peter Arenz, Michael Lowin, and Thorsten Sauerbrey. Subsequently, guitarist Christian Wille replaced founding member Oliver Schoening prior to the 1993 demo The Awakening. After releasing As Daylight Fades (1994) and Oceans of Time (1995), the group performed at Wacken Open Air and supported Saxon and Nina Hagen. The band debuted with Baneful Skies in 1999, followed by Crimson Frost (2001), First Beams of Light (2002), and Of Decay and Desire (2003). After the 2006 album Dark at Dawn, the ensemble performed a farewell concert at Rockharz Open Air in 2007 and disbanded. The members reunited in 2012 to release the EP Noneternal.
