Ana Alcaide, born on July 7, 1976, in Madrid, Spain, is a Spanish singer, composer, and music producer. She began studying violin at age seven, later attending the Conservatorio de Getafe and the University of Lund in Sweden. In 2000, while on a scholarship in Sweden, Alcaide discovered the nyckelharpa, a traditional Swedish instrument, which she began to play autodidactically. The artist released her debut album Viola de teclas in 2006, which pioneered the use and dissemination of the nyckelharpa in Spain. Her subsequent albums feature Como la luna y el sol in 2007, La cantiga del fuego in 2012, Tales of Pangea in 2015, Leyenda in 2016, and Ritual in 2022, a collaborative project with Iranian musician Reza Shayesteh. She also collaborated with notable artists such as Loreena McKennitt and Paco Ibáñez.
